The company is specialized in the prawn market since it started its operation in 1998. After starting to work uniquely with wild prawns, the aquacultured prawns were gradually introduced, being its best product. The company delivers prawns through the following brands (Registered Brands): Ultracongelados Antártida, Langostinos Langodor, Lanvara, Vanamei and Vanamar. The company has modern logistic and manufacturing facilities placed in Burgos (Spain), homologated according to EEC directives for food industries. In August of 2002, the company's shareholders' have reached an agreement with Pescanova Group for the sale of 100% equity of the company. This agreement foresees the maintenance-continuity of the present management team of Antartida, guaranteeing the independence and continuity of its industrial and commercial policy. The company is globally owned and controlled by Pescanova SA, a Spanish company engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the fishing industry. The company is headquartered in Burgos, Spain.
